Starting an Audio Adventure Abroad!

About Me:

Hi there! My name is Autumn and I’ll be interning here at Eastside for the next few months. I’m originally from a small mountain town in Colorado, but I recently graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle (go dawgs!). There, I studied Cinema and Media Studies and Dance, so you can probably guess that the visual and performing arts are really my jam. Aside from that, I enjoy thrifting, eating noodles, and anything that happens to be purple.

Why Eastside:

Even though I can write a mean analytical essay and organize like crazy, my college program left me feeling a bit clueless about what I wanted to do with my CMS degree. I thought an internship would be the perfect opportunity to practice some of the skills that I’d learned and explore some potential industry jobs. On top of that, I thought it would be a great time to travel and explore!! Through some research, I discovered Eastside and thought it would be a great match given its community-focused mindset, laid back vibe, and love of all arts.

My Music Taste:

Now that I’m interning at a radio station, I should probably steer this introduction in a more musical direction! I’d say that I mostly listen to indie and alternative artists, particularly Men I Trust, Clairo, Kate Bollinger, and The Marías. If I’m going for a more vintage vibe, I also love classic rock and new wave, Fleetwood Mac and Talking Heads being some of my favorites. Growing up with a very theatrical family, music has always had a huge presence in my household, dance parties to my parents’ faves being an essential family activity. Ever since then, I’ve always been open to listen to anything that has the potential to make me dance or just impact how I walk down the street.

Thanks for starting this journey with me! I’m so excited to experience the local warmth, sights, and sounds. Oh… and I WILL be blasting Lorde’s Solar Power the whole time I’m down here (don’t worry, I know she’s not an Aussie but I couldn’t resist with the gorgeous weather here).
