The Australian Army Band (AAB) is offering positions for part-time musicians in Sydney, including one at Victoria Barracks in Paddington.
Within an Army Band you have the opportunity to work in ensembles such as a Rock Band, Jazz Ensemble, Big Band, Concert Band, Quintets and Marching Band.
These groups perform music that covers the full spectrum of musical genres from Classical to Jazz, Popular and Contemporary.
The Army Band enlists musicians who are proficient on the following instruments:
- Flute/Piccolo
- Oboe
- Clarinet
- Bassoon
- Saxophones
- French Horn
- Trumpet
- Trombone
- Euphonium
- Tuba
- Percussion (tuned and un-tuned
- Drum Kit
- Guitar
- Bass Guitar
- Keyboard
- Bagpipes
- Pipe Drums
- Vocals (male and female)

Salary: On completion of military and initial employment training, you could earn a tax-free daily rate of: $178.24 per day. This includes a Reserve allowance.
