Hi everyone!

My name is Max Massiah and I’m 21 years old. I’m from Baltimore, Maryland from the U.S. I’m a student at Johns Hopkins University majoring in applied math and statistics and minoring in film and media studies, and I am excited to be starting a 10-week internship at Eastside.

I just finished my third year of school and wanted to spend the summer traveling and getting working experience, and what better place to do that than here in Sydney! My interest in media is relatively recent but I have enjoyed it immensely, so I wanted to explore that more. I also enjoy writing and going on outdoor adventures.

I grew up playing piano and saxophone, so I’m passionate about classical music and jazz. I also have a massive curiosity for all varieties of music. My playlists are usually all over the place, so I put a few recent listens.

I found this artist, Sammy Rae, from a friend’s playlist while working on a student film set. I was immediately captivated by the jazz rock style and the amazing vocals.

I also like R&B and soul, and Lawrence was one of those artists that recently caught my ear.

I discovered the last song while exploring music on YouTube. I always enjoy finding music in other languages and from other cultures.

I am extremely excited and fortunate to be interning with the Eastside team this summer!
