Jazz Trio Reunion at Camelot Lounge!

Camelot Lounge warmly welcomes back Mark Isaacs and is delighted to host his 60^th Birthday Concert. Mark began to perform publicly in his early teens and so is also celebrating nearly half a century on the stage.

For this concert, Mark has arranged a reunion of his acclaimed jazz trio. It is a rare occasion these days that sees Mark playing with a band, making this celebration even more of a special event.

The trio appearing in this performance is certainly well-seasoned. It formed the engine room of Mark’s acclaimed Resurgence project, which he led from 2006-13. Its four albums attracted two ARIA Award nominations, and the band toured extensively in Australia and Asia, including performing at the Tokyo Jazz Festival and recording a TV special for South Korean national television.

In 2015 the trio, with the support of Queensland Government, and joined by vocalist Briana Cowlishaw, made a 3000km road tour of rural Queensland, visiting many small and drought-stricken farming communities.

Mark’s other recent projects include composing his second symphony as well as classical recitals.

The Mark Isaacs Trio will work its jazz magic over familiar and not-so-familiar tunes. It will be an occasion to savour some very cool jazz in the intimate atmosphere of Marrickville’s Camelot Lounge.
