Yellow Deluxe – Emma Jeane Thackray
Bandleader, multi instrumentalist and producer Emma-Jeane Thackray releases her debut album Yellow Deluxe. Raised in Yorkshire, but now a resident of Catford, London, Thackray released two EP’s in 2020 – EPs Um Yang 음 양 and Rain Dance. She puts a spiritually minded, dancefloor take on jazz, and is a refined songwriter of acid and fusion jazz.
Blue Magic – Moussa Diakite
Guitarist, singer and composer Moussa Diakite has now released his third album, Blue Magic. Diakite played lead guitar in internationally known band ‘Rail Band’, which was one of the first groups to combine elements of Cuban, Congolese and Jazz with West African rhythms, melodies and instrumentation. As a result, ‘Rail Band’ went on to sell out stadiums across the globe. Following his time with the ‘Rail Band’, Diakite spent 5 years playing lead guitar in Grammy Award-winning Kora player Toumani Diabate’s live band before spending a further 5 years touring the world with Salif Kieta. Since moving to Australia, the accomplished composer has released 2 albums before this one which includes elements of Afro-blues funk groove and polyphonic melodies.
