This Thursday, Maisy Stapleton and Paula Towers speak to two artists with new exhibitions.
Firstly, meet Andjana Pachkova – formerly a Wall Street lawyer, born in the Ukraine and raised in Russia and now living in Sydney, practicing art.
Her solo exhibition Fernweh – into the Blue, at the Stanley Street Gallery until 28 August, explores notions of the longing to explore far away places.
We also speak with Thienny Lee, owner of her eponymous gallery in nearby Edgecliff which focuses on contemporary Australian and Asian art, and to Tracey Esteves, whose colourful works in her upcoming exhibition An Australian Accent are being featured at the gallery from September 3-22.
Tracey references Australian society, history and iconography by exploring the relationships between popular culture and fine art.
