Over the course of October/November 2017, Ed Lippmann returned with a second series of Sydney By Design, once again placing the spotlight on Ed’s passion: Sydney and what sort of city we need that fits the requirements of the twenty-first century.  This series featured a number of guests who brought their special interests to the discussion. Listen to the six parts below:

Following is Part 1. Ed introduces the series and outlines the challenges we face and where we might be seeking solutions:

In Part 2, our special guest was Ed Blakely, the Greater Sydney Commissioner for Central Sydney. Ed B talks about his role as Commissioner and how the city is envisaged to develop.

In Part 3, our special guest was Corinne Fisher, Senior Campaigner for the Total Environment Centre. Ed explores the impact of population growth and development on the natural environment:

In Part 3, our special guest was Nicole Sullivan from Green Star Solutions, the team of the Green Building Council of Australia which sets standards against which buildings are rated.

In Part 5, Ed addresses the issue of infrastructure: what we have and what we need in terms of roads and transport in Sydney.

In Part 6, the final episode, our guest is architect Philip Drew, who believes Sydney has reached the tipping point and should not expand further:
