Rowed in from the Northside to the Eastside – Meet the New Intern!

April 04, 2025

Hey Eastsiders,

Inspired by the mellifluous and variously random sounds often juddering my antwacky Hyundai, and having been quite finally fed-up with my lack of practical music knowledge, a venture into the depths of Eastside radio presenting we have taken.

I’m Olivah – Oliver’s incorrectly spelled counterpart – currently living the fourth-year student life – or, more accurately, deferred fourth-year student life – gifting me some spare time to surf the many sweaty bandrooms of Sydney in search of mosh pits, crowd-surfs and head-bops. When not partaking in Newtown’s eardrum-disintegrating music scene, you’ll find me somewhere in the Iron Cove, sopping wet just having capsized my rowboat. Finally back on land, I might be found consuming a large bowl of third lunch, as such a lifestyle certainly increases the appetite!

My musical proclivities navigate most corners of the great genre spectrum, where, in the gloomy grimace of a row-erg “Bulls On Parade” might terrorise the neighbours, or, at a romantic solo candlelit brunch “Fly Me To The Moon” would accompany warm cinnamon scrolls. Momentarily, my current music fixations might be summarised in the selection below:

I’m thrilled to get on board, and with open ears and many badgering inquisitions, I hope to be a regular in your esteemed studios shortly! And, if you’re interested in co-hosting a miscellaneous and chaotic podcast with me, do let me know because when prompted I certainly like to chat!
