Our very own Chantelle and Tim interviewed Prof Francisco Mojica, as he gave a talk at the University of New South Wales in July. He had discovered the mechanism that was later used as the gene editing technique CRISPR. The scientific world is captivated by this revolutionary technology, since it is easier, cheaper and more efficient than previous strategies for modifying DNA.
