Opera singer and vocal coach Rebecca Scott stops by Wednesday Drive to promote the Open Academy at the Con, which offers music and voice courses to anyone interested in the Sydney community.

A former student of the Con herself, Scott discusses her own vocal education and operatic career, reminiscing on her trajectory of dedication and travel and how it influenced how she experienced opera singing. She then describes how a homecoming led her to becoming a teacher at her alma mater.

Scott teaches Vocal Horizons 1, 2, and 3, beginner/intermediate courses at the Con that focus on the fundamentals of breathing, voice care, projection, and harmony. The course is designed to be an opportunity for people who want to develop their singing voices to do so in a lighthearted, low stakes manner.
