Every year, millions of migratory birds fly between Australia and the Arctic Circle. For 4800 shorebirds, their 15.000 km journey ends in the Hunter Valley in NSW. But resting and roosting sites are being increasingly impacted by coastal development, sea-level rise and other disturbances. Artificial roosting sites help birds to migrate successfully.
