A flesh eating ulcer, known as Buruli has led to a record number of amputations in Melbourne this year. The number of cases has tripled in the last five years, with the disease spreading from Victoria’s coastal towns to inner city Melbourne – and researchers have no idea why.

Drive Tuesday chatted to Associate Professor Daniel O’Brien from the Barwon Health Department of Infectious diseases, attached to Deakin University to find out more.
