Hey Eastsiders!

My name is Mia Easton, I am 18 years old from Dallas, Texas. I am a recent high school graduate and doing a portion of my gap year in Sydney! I have spent the past month living in Madrid, Spain studying Spanish, and I’ll be living here in Sydney for one month. I couldn’t be more excited to start my four-week internship here at Eastside FM Radio Station.

I love traveling almost as much as I love the beach, which is why I picked Sydney as the perfect place to intern. I am a very long way from home but the people here have already made me feel like I fit right in. I am interning at a radio station because I am incredibly outgoing and love music.

I couldn’t pick a favorite genre even if my life depended on it, though I do tend to favor R&B/soul, hip hop, indie, and alternative music. Everywhere I go, I am playing music and trying to discover new and upcoming artists. One of my favorite R&B/soul artists is Erykah Badu. A few more of my favorites are David Byrne, Talking Heads, and Kali Uchis.
