Eastside Radio’s Album of the Week is Night Flowers by Ambre Hammond on the Ambre Hammond label.
Classical pianist, Ambre Hammond, completed her Associate and Licentiate Diplomas in Piano as an eleven year old, while being home-schooled in Moss Vale, Australia. Her debut with orchestra at age 16 was playing the Concerto No. 3 by Rachmaninoff with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Cordoba in Argentina as part of her first prize in the International Music Competition of Cordoba.
Night Flowers is a collaboration between pianist/composer Ambre Hammond and photographer James O’Toole. James captured 24 night-images of flowers in gardens around Sydney, Australia. Ambre immortalised these images in music with the composition of 24 pieces for solo piano.
