Join Maisy Stapleton and Paula Towers this Arts Thursday to meet two special guests.

KATHRYN HUNYOR 

Australian Design Centre, in partnership with ArtsPeople, presents DESIGN 101, a new series of entertaining and informative lectures on design and design history given by top experts.

These lectures focus on the forces and people who have shaped our contemporary world and will be hosted by our first interviewee – curator, consultant and speaker Kathryn Hunyor.

Kathryn will elaborate on the fascinating topics which cover Indigenous Australian Design, The Arts & Crafts Movement, Japanese Design, From Bauhaus to Your House, and What is Design?

The distinguished guest speakers include David Clark, Peter McNeil, Annalisa Capurro, Eloise Rapp, Mark Ian Jones and Alison Page.

CRISTIANA PALMIERI

Sydney University Italian Studies Department Research Affiliate Dr Cristiana Palmieri also sits on the board of the Dante Alighieri Society Sydney, which is launching an exciting initiative. Starting this month, a series of topical, free lectures is being held to discuss issues faced by women in the workplace.

Hosted and facilitated by Dante Alighieri Society Sydney committee members, the guest-speakers and subject matter experts will share their experiences and successes in the workforce – both in Australia and abroad.

Topics include: working in multicultural and multilingual contexts; gender and professional opportunities; the pandemic’s impact on work practices; negotiation strategies for women in the workplace; and work-life balance.

These lectures offer participants the opportunity of discussing important workplace issues as well as gaining valuable insights into ways of maximising their professional development.
