Dancing In The Shadows Of Motown

Ritz Randwick – Saturday, 5th June

Sydney Harbour Cruise – Friday, 2nd July

Dancing In The Shadows of Motown tells the story of how Motown was the start of modern music and the influence of many following generations. Founded by Berry Gordy in 1960, Motown was known as the “Sound of Young America” and “Three Decades of Magic”.

Motown produced more hits than the Beatles, The Stones, The Beach Boys and Elvis, combined! Motown is considered the soul of modern music, and that it was indeed the start of modern contemporary and dance music as we know it today.

Motown influenced the following generation such as “Money” (the first big Motown Hit) was covered by the Beatles, and “Don’t Look Back” was a hit for Peter Tosh and Mick Jagger, “Dancing In The Street” was also a hit for Mick Jagger and David Bowie and the list goes on.

Dancing In The Shadows of Motown has been running since October 2018 and is now selling out shows across the country, including the Opera House Studio in August 2019.

The show authentically recreates the dynamic performances of The Temptations, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson 5, Martha and The Vandellas, Marvin Gaye and many more Motown legends.

With five lead singers delivering a mixture of beautiful harmonies and a great variety of music from many artists and many fun/familiar songs which people like to sing along with and dance.

The performance adopts a video slideshow and animated background to enhance the “showbiz” entertainment value of the show along with choreography and cool 60’s stylised wardrobe as worn by the likes of The Temptations and The Supremes.

Many music industry professionals, musicians and DJ’s have described the show as “World Class Entertainment” so come and see for yourselves.

This dynamic “all-singing all-dancing” band has performed sold-out shows at many major venues including the iconic Sydney Opera House Studio, Wenty Leagues Club, The Basement, The Camelot Lounge, and The Eastern Lounge and the Willoughby RSL this year.

You can expect classic hits including Reach Out, Stop In The Name Of Love, Ain’t Too Proud To Beg, Heatwave, I Heard It Through the Grapevine, Dancing in The Streets, Uptight, Signed Sealed Delivered, You keep Me Hanging On, What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted, Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, Standing On Shakey Ground, My Girl and many more magical MOTOWN classics.
