considering the arts … July 8

July 06, 2021

Join Maisy Stapleton and Paula Towers this Arts Thursday for a lockdown show.

Jennifer Bott AO

Tune in to meet Jennifer Bott AO for a thoughtful discussion on the value of the arts and to explore her stellar career in the arts and in cultural leadership roles.

Jenny’s distinguished career has embraced almost every form of the arts from community practice, to music, performing arts and the visual arts. She has run some of the nation’s major arts and cultural organisations including the Australia Council for the Arts, NIDA, the National Portrait Gallery, Regional Arts Australia and Musica Viva as well as working at Opera Australia and heading the development office at the University of NSW. Jenny has chaired or been a director of many arts boards, including Bundanon and the Australian Museum.

Jenny is now looking at a role in local government, standing for the Wingecarribee Shire council in the Southern Highlands. We talk to her about her life in the cultural world, look at the changing nature of the arts ‘industry’ and how a cultural and leadership background can work for the wider community.
