Arts Tuesday is Sydney radio’s liveliest and most informative arts show. Gaz and Di are dedicated to the latest news and views on what’s happening and about to happen in the performing and visual arts, and also dedicated to having a good time. Punctuated by eclectic music , expert opinion, much laughter and wide-ranging interviews with our finest creative artists, 89.7FM is the only place to be on a Tuesday morning.
Gaz has been an Eastside arts presence for the past decade; outside the studio he is Cultural Advisor to Destination Pacific, a leading inbound tourist agency.
A Fulbright scholar, Gaz has spent most of his working life in universities in the area of Educational Philosophy. Because of his deep interest in the arts, he has also been associated with many cultural institutions including chair of the Australia Council’s Theatre Board and the NSW Arts Advisory Council; director, Seaborn, Broughton and Walford Foundation for the Performing Arts; trustee, of the Rodney Seaborn Playwrights Award; and chair of the Peter Summerton Foundation for the Performing Arts.
In 1993 Gaz was awarded an AM for his contribution to arts and education in Australia.
Diana is a relatively recent recruit to Eastside on-air but has been a listener and supporter for ages. She is one of Sydney’s best-known and most respected arts commentators and critics.
She has contributed to the Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian, the Sunday Telegraph and ABC 702. She was arts editor of The Bulletin and began her critical career on Time Out, London. She now runs the influential arts website www.stagenoise.com and works at the University of Sydney.
Diana’s great love is theatre and she has been on the boards of ToeTruck Theatre and Belvoir St; she is also a founder member of the group of Sydney critics responsible for the annual Sydney Theatre Awards. She hasn’t been given a medal, yet.
