Arts Monday, special interview with Sydney Film Festival Director, Nashen Moodley.
My name is Athésia (Pronounced Ah Tease Ya), I will be stepping in on Art’s Monday on Monday 27th of May 2019. It’s a pleasure of being invited to produce and host the show that is normally presented by Margaux Dombkins & Leah Haynes & Susie Lindeman & Neil Phipps.
Tune in on Monday 27th of May as I will have the honour of interviewing Sydney Film Festival director, Nashen Moodley who will share with us the best of the best of Cinema. Between 5 and 16 June, the Festival screens 307 of the greatest and strangest new films from 58 countries, including 33 World Premieres, at eight cinemas across Sydney. You can pick up a copy of the 64-page at any of the cinemas around Sydney. You can also get a copy mail delivered over here, or download the SFF 2019 app, available now on the App Store and on Google Play.
From the 27 May – 3 June is National Reconciliation Week
National Reconciliation Week is celebrated across Australia each year. The dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey—the anniversaries of the successful 1967 referendum and the High Court Mabo decision. The week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements and to explore how each of us can join the national reconciliation effort. I will be playing some tracks from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander that I love such as Indigenous Australian singer and songwriter Emma Donovan and Indigenous Australian rapper, dancer, artist, and actor Baker Boy.
