After being the on-stage engine of Brian Eno’s remarkable Pure Scenius improvised concerts at the first Vivid LIVE in 2009 alongside Underworld’s Karl Hyde, Jon Hopkins and Leo Abrahams, The Necks finally headline their own Vivid LIVE performance.
After a national tour with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds this year marks the 30th anniversary of the band in which pianist Chris Abrahams, bassist Lloyd Swanton and drummer Tony Buck have mastered the art of improvisation, each taking turns leading and following each other’s musical ideas to create truly unique pieces of contemporary classical both in the recording studio and live on stage.
