What a memorable night, filled with hope and soulful R&B that truly sets a smooth mood and has bridges back to the music we love.
Kwn, along with her talented band, including Darius Woodley on drums, Levi Yarde on bass, and a brilliant keyboardist, brought an energy to the stage that I haven’t seen in a while.
From the moment the lights dimmed and her intro played, you could feel the excitement in the air. Her walkout to “bite me INTRO” was met with the loudest screams of joy.
That incredible start set the tone for the entire evening, with everyone in the crowd singing along and feeding off that infectious energy.

Most of us were on our feet all night, which is a rare thing at concerts I’ve attended. Usually, about half the room sits down, but tonight, something special in the atmosphere had everyone standing and singing at the top of their lungs with pure positive and hyper energy.
I spotted some fans in the front row who had the best seats in the house. They knew every lyric perfectly and seemed completely absorbed in the moment, soaking in Kwn’s presence. Honestly, it made me wonder if I should have practised more before the show. But I still managed most of the words, and it was a fun challenge!
My seat was on the right side of the stage, giving me a clear view of everything. It was amazing being so close, especially during “lord, I’ve tried” when everyone turned on their spotlights. That song about overcoming personal struggles, seeking peace through prayer, and the need for support really resonated, showing Kwn’s heartfelt connection to her music.
During breaks, Kwn shared her gratitude, reflecting on her journey and career with warmth and honesty. She acknowledged that not everyone had a ticket, but to those who did, their support truly meant the world to her.

By 2025, she was gaining widespread recognition for her unique style in the R&B scene. Incredibly, she managed to book the Sydney Opera House just a year after rising to fame, which is a rare achievement that’s so well deserved.
One unexpected highlight was her performance of Ginuwine’s “Pony.” At first, it caught me off guard, but then I realised the song’s theme is quite similar to her new single, “Touch Myself.” I’ve had it on repeat since it dropped, especially because of the beautiful bridge that elevates the song to another level.
That single will be part of her upcoming EP, “and all pride aside,” set for release on June 26. She performed other tracks from the EP, like “Hopeless Romantic” and “Idea of Love,” alongside songs from her previous EP, “episode wn,” some old singles, and hits like “worst behaviour.” That song really put her on the map for me, as I first discovered her on TikTok when I saw a short clip of her promoting it before the official release.
Though the concert was only about 70 minutes, every second was packed with energy and excitement, showing just how deeply her fans connect with her music.

And let’s not forget the band; they were phenomenal throughout! Darius Woodley especially had everyone amazed with his drumming, including a solo in the middle/end that proved just how talented he is and why he is Grammy-nominated.
Levi Yarde, on bass and keyboardist, set the perfect mood for each song. When he played the mash-up of Justin Timberlake’s “My Love” with “worst behaviour”, it was mind-blowing and seamless.
Leaving the concert that night, I was genuinely blown away. It’s clear why Kwn has risen so quickly, and I’m already looking forward to all that’s coming next for her, especially as I eagerly await her new EP.
