If you don’t know it already, now’s your chance to step into the funkadelic world of Marrickville’s Lazybones Lounge Restaurant & Bar. This June they’ve really pulled out the stops for a month filled with soul, jazz, and all the good stuff.

Sunday 8th June

Soul Roots Revival Band – Soul Funk Extravaganza

Fancy a boogie? Soul Roots Revival Band have got you covered for a night of soul, blistering funk, and roots. 

Soul Roots Reveal Band performing Chaka Chan’s ‘I Know You, I Live You’.

Established as Sydney’s top funk and soul collaboration Soul Roots Revival Band are an all-star, hand-picked 8 piece band, led by internationally acclaimed saxophonist and composer Jason Bruer. Reminiscent of groovier times they celebrate the undeniable genius of Aretha Franklin, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Earth Wind & Fire, Gladys Knight, Tower of Power and others. 

So get your best threads on and don’t forget your dancing shoes for a night of your favourite classics and an sonic, soulful journey through killer tracks you wish you’d heard before.

The Tuesday Night Jazz Orchestra

Jazz lovers (aren’t we all?) this is the perfect evening out for you! Drummer, Conductor and Composer Jason Isaac leads a stellar line-up of musicians presenting an extensive repertoire from the past 60 years of big band writing.

Nothing but Jazz all night long – expect new and old as must see staples of the Sydney music scene grace Lazybones this June. With new music this year from Bob Brookmeyer, Marshall Gilkes, Michel Camilo, Jim McNeely, Thad Jones, Maria Schneider, Bob Florence, and Bert Joris, plus the home-grown compositions of Vanessa Perica, Andrew Robertson, Jason Isaac and Deven Rahman.
