SUFF and Folk By The Sea – Arts Monday

The Folk By The Sea Festival is a three-day celebration of the best sounds of folk, world, roots, celtic, bluegrass and gypsy music. Iconic Australian singer-songwriter Neil Murray heads a stellar line-up of 51 international, national and local acts at this year’s Festival. Neil’s well-known song, My Island Home featured at the closing ceremony of the 2000 Olympics in Sydney and the opening ceremony of the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast. Neil was a founding member of ground-breaking Warumpi Band in 1980 and is currently touring Australia with his new album releases – Blood & Longing and Tjungu, an album with Sammy Butcher.

The Sydney Underground Film Festival – SUFF showcases the best in freaky, absurd, fantastic and not-for-the-faint-hearted films over four days. 2019 marks the annual festival’s 13th edition and is dedicated to nurturing an alternative film culture through the promotion of independent and experimental films. From Opening Night The Beach Bum, to Documentaries, Short Film sessions and Conferences and Workshops to the Closing Night film The Lodge, SUFF provides filmmakers, especially those who operate outside established film industry infrastructures, with a platform for exhibition, exposure and critical discussion.
