Ray Curran only discovered Dragon Boat racing after working in Police Search and Rescue in Tasmania. His work included an attachment in New Zealand working on the recovery of the Rainbow Warrior.

Ray has played sport all his life from Badminton to Underwater Hockey. So it’s no wonder he competes at a senior level representing South Australia, Northern Territory and New South Wales as well as the National team. He has medalled in Championships in China and Canada and is competing again this year in Thailand.

In his spare time Ray is a marriage celebrant and works part time for the Office of the Prime Minister.
