In the world of contemporary music, few bands are as fiercely protective of their sonic DNA as Radiohead. Tony Roma’s guest managed to do the near-impossible: he decoded that DNA, translated it for eighty-eight keys, and earned the band’s rare stamp of approval in the process.
Josh Cohen didn’t just create piano covers; he created a new vocabulary for Radiohead’s catalog—blending classical rigor with the spontaneity of jazz improvisation. From a viral YouTube channel to publishing two acclaimed songbooks with Faber Music featuring the iconic art of Stanley Donwood, Josh has become the definitive voice for Radiohead on the piano. He appeared on Thursday Drive with Tony Roma, and they spoke about the art of the arrangement, the ‘Emergency Piano Hotline,’ and what happens when your musical heroes finally listen back.
He will be performing at the City Recital Hall on Saturday 23rd May from 8pm.
