Podcast: Love Soul

Today’s guest was just three years old when she started playing piano. And at the ripe old age of 6 she was giving classical recitals. A prodigy, a powerhouse, a multi-instrumentalist and multi-award-winning, Grammy nominated artist, this deeply talented lady has also made her mark on academia as the chair of popular music at USC and the ambassador of artistry in Education at the Berklee College of Music. A film composer and the first female music director for the 46th, 47th, and 48th Grammy Awards – our guest was also the music director for Janet Jackson’s second concert tour. I am personally ridiculously thrilled to finally be speaking with the woman behind one of my favourite funk grooves ever – all unforgettable soul claps and arguably the fattest bass solo in history! Joining us via Zoom for an exclusive Love Soul interview, is the one, the only, Ms Patrice Rushen.
