On this week’s fab-tastic ep of Breaking Waves we interview star actor, producer and playwright, Trisha Starrs. Trish has her own stellar company, Starr’s Productions, which tours plays that Trish has written to hundreds of schools throughout Australia and New Zealand. We get the lowdown on what it takes to write a smash hit school play, like Trish’s Techno Bully, which deals with issues of cyber harassment and has struck a chord with children and teachers throughout the Country. Shai, like an insatiable Eddie Maguire, puts our guest in the hotseat to ask some pertinent and penetrating questions of Trish, who fields it all well, in a fascinating and fun interview … P.S., is it true that our own dear producer Ruth once acted alongside Trish in a Shakespeare-by-the-Sea production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Balmoral Beach?! Geoff can only look on and try and get a word in edgeways as Shai, the incorrigible name-dropper, tells Trish of his experience acting with Toni Collette in the film the Black Balloon. More importantly, the boys dissect the big issues, like Shai’s stage name ‘Shai-lo’, and how, at 16, he turned his back on acting stardom as ‘too much hard work’. What have they been up to and are planning? Is it true they’ll be having Indian food tonight?! Especially after what happened last time?! Expect a full – possibly too full – report of proceedings on Breaking Waves soon!
