There aren’t many athletes that rise through the ranks to compete at international level in two different sports. Olympian Sarah Cook is one of them.
Sarah competed as a dual international in rowing and sailing from 2004 to 2015. She rowed for Australia in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics and competed at numerous National and World Championships. After a chance encounter in the airport after the London Olympics in 2012, Sarah decided to switch to sailing. Having never sailed before, she won her first national sailing title just five months after switching, and went on to represent Australia in several World Championships.
Since then, Sarah has worked as a lead commentator for World Rowing and Henley Royal Regatta, as Operations Manager at Australian Sailing, as a Rowing NSW Board Member and as President of Sydney University Boat Club! In the midst of all that, she’s chatting to GT this Tuesday at 3pm, covering selection, deselection, life after sport and her new passion as a budding wine maker.
