Nobody told me it was a jazz radio station ?

Before starting, I just want to apologize for the several errors I’ll make in this article. English is my second language and I’m currently trying to improve myself.

My name is Maxime LAHUPPE. I’m 18 years old, and I arrived in Australia 2 weeks ago. I’m French and I live in the western part of France, more precisely, Brittany .

I have three main passions. The first one is sport, I practice basketball now for 10 years with my friends. I need sport in my life, simply to feel confident and to evacuate the stress of everyday life. Then it’s music, wherever I am, I need my headphones to listen to my music. And inevitably, Australia is another one of my main passions. Being in Australia is a childhood dream, and here I am. I just achieved my dream and combined two of my life goals: living in Australia and discovering medias professions.

My path:

I obtained my baccalaureate in July 2017 and started law studies in September 2017. As time went by I realized that  these studies didn’t correspond to my way of thinking at all, so I decided to leave law university in October 2017 and to focus on what was really motivating me: travelling to Australia. As I’d like to become a journalist in the future, I started to look for an internship in medias and at the same time I was working at Macdonald’s to earn money to pay my flight to Australia. I got my internship at Eastside FM after an interview with Tony Smythe, the station manager,  in December 2017 and I booked my flight right after.

Finally, here I am, I started my internship on January 29th 2018. I’m discovering a media profession, thanks to Tony, in my dreamed country. Give yourself every means to succeed, and always believe in your motivation.
