Welcome to My Sis, a celebration of 10 years of First Nations excellence in music.
Founded by Naarm-based rapper Briggs, Bad Apples Music has spent a decade shaping Australia’s hip-hop scene while championing First Nations voices and stories. To mark the milestone, My Sis features an all-female First Nations line-up spanning Australia and the Pacific.
Catch performances from Western Sydney powerhouse Barkaa, Aotearoa neo-soul queen Ladi6, and trailblazing voices like Alice Skye, Maori artist and performer MĀ, Southwest Sydney’s RIAH, and Kenzie From Welly in a night that celebrates resilience, culture and sisterhood through music.
My Sis takes place at the Metro Theatre on Saturday, 7 June, 2025, and will spotlight indigenous female voices, featuring Triple J Unearthed’s competition winner Ruby Mae (pictured below). She’s a proud Wiradjuri woman, who writes emotive songs blending nostalgia with a fresh perspective. Having played tirelessly in her hometown of Naarm / Melbourne for over a decade, Ruby Mae seamlessly joins the lineup of elite talent at My Sis.

Aiming always to be “more than just a record label,” Bad Apples “has become a renowned and trusted name within the Australian music landscape for its consistent championing of First Nations excellence, and its consistent success in doing so.”
This event is presented by Vivid Sydney with support from City of Sydney. It’s perfect for fans of Miss Kannina, OneFour, Jesswar, A.GIRL, and Ziggy Ramo.
Please note: this event is 18+.
