Mojo Juju: Native Tongue

October 28, 2019

Mojo Juju Explores Identity, Family History, Ancestry, And More At The City Recital Hall

Described as a “killer vocalist, songwriter and musician” (Double J), award-winning artist Mojo Juju will take to the City Recital Hall stage for the first time to perform her award-winning album Native Tongue.

Native Tongue is an intimate look at the stories behind the songs from Mojo Juju’s third album of the same name. Through the telling of family history and her own personal experiences, Mojo Juju explores her relationships with Elders and Ancestry and how that informs her own identity, through her music.

Raw, honest, emotional and intrinsically political, the show contemplates her Mother’s Indigenous heritage, her Father’s experience as a Filipino immigrant and her own place in the cultural landscape of modern Australia.

Tickets now available from City Recital Hall and Ticketmaster.
