On Tuesday afternoon we had a thrilling program; starting with a discussion with political lecturer David Smith from Sydney University about Donald Trump and the recent Presidential Debate. It was a wide-ranging talk that touched on the conservative Christian factionalism in the US as well as the psychology of the Republican candidate. It also featured a beautiful gospel-style takedown of Trump’s recently leaked video that skirted on the controversial, sung by Anthony Hamilton and The Hamiltones.

We then had a short interview with Daniel Jernazium about his short film ‘Concerto: an odd couple’ that is about to be featured at the Byron Short Film Festival. Although there no Sydney showings slated to be released at this time, we certainly wish Daniel all the best of luck at the Festival, as well as with his future dreams in film-making.

At 5 ‘o’ clock, we had sometime Eastside presenter Georgia Mooney come on the air to talk to us about her new band All Our Exes Live in Texas, an all-female band named after a terrible country song. With their debut album ‘When We Fall’ coming out next year, Georgia talked about the formation of her band, as well as an upcoming gig at the Oxford Art Factory playing last night, Thursday the 13th! We played the newest single released from the album ‘The Devil’s Part’ which you can listen to here, and buy from their iTunes page.

Finally, Tuesday Drive was lucky enough to have Australian musician Miriam Lieberman come into the studio. Miriam is in the middle of releasing her newest album and came onto the show to release the first single ‘Here is the rhythm’ live on air with us!

The album itself is called ‘Full Circle’, and is being released alongside an Australian tour starting in Sydney on the 27th of October at the Camelot lounge. It is a modern reflection of music in more ways than one, being a product of years of experience of West African music, as well as being entirely crowd funded. As was discussed in the interview, Australia is a country of limited resources and the emergence of this new form of artistic patronage that emerged from the United States is opening up new opportunities for artists. The strength of the support for Miriam demonstrates that she has a strong base of music lovers to draw upon, and this will hopefully be only one of many success stories for Australian musicians in the near future.
