November at Lazybones
This November, experience high calibre exhilarating contemporary jazz with Jason Bruer and Hammerhead on the 19th. This groovy jazz band, originally formed as an Art Blakey and the Messengers appreciation band has transformed itself into of the grooviest and most talented jazz bands that the country has to offer.
Furthermore, Sydney-based band Greg Nunan and the General Jacksons launch their new album of stingin’ blues and roots rock on the 22nd. The new record showcases Nunan’s masterful guitar work, powerful vocals and crafty songwriting honed over years on the road.Known for a ferocious live show, the band will launch their Summer tour with this album — a night that promises them in absolute prime form.

ABOVE: Jason Bruer. In 2010, Jason formed sextet Hammerhead, then went on to record their debut album ‘Mosaic’ in 2014. You will have seen them appearing at numerous festivals including Wangaratta Jazz & Blues Festival, Thredbo Jazz Festival and Manly Jazz.

ABOVE: Greg Nunan. Forming his own band The General Jacksons, Nunan quickly gained notoriety for his gritty guitar chops and dynamic stage presence. He brought his high-energy live show to festivals including Austin’s SXSW, Singapore’s Boy ‘n’ Toys Festival and the Manly Jazz Festival. His international resume also includes extensive touring throughout the USA, Central America, UK, Asia, and New Zealand. Sydney based band Lolo Lovina inspire audiences all over the world (Cuba, USA, Spain, France, NZ, Germany, Bosnia, Serbia) to celebrate connection, culture & community through their virtuosic delivery and love of vocalist Sarah Bedák and drummer / Musical Director Nenad Radic’s ancestral Romani cultural music.
Lolo Lovina fuse this with music that excites them, be it heavy metal, tango, swing jazz or British pop. Lolo Lovina’s stage performance is high energy, super tight, interactive and exciting as they tangibly share the love and respect they have for each other and their ancestors with the audience.
