Leo Metzker at Eastside FM
Eastside Radio broadcasts from the Paddington Town Hall, the very place that my great grandparents met at a wartime dance. My great grandmother won the trophy for the skinniest ankles and passed those genetics onto me. Music and dance continues to emanate from this place in the form of funk, soul, jazz and groove. As a musician and songwriter, these are the genres which I love. I would be quite content enjoying a plate of scones with Nile Rodgers, David Paich and the ghost of George Duke if the offer was made. I recently released two singles which you can hear below. Please feel free to put on your boogie shoes (or sandals for the religious folk).
I have just finished a Bachelor of Communications (Media Arts & Production) at UTS where I especially enjoyed advertising and filmmaking. This year I will complete a Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation. If I could describe that to you in 25 words, I couldn’t. What I can say is that my studies have revealed my passion for music and communicating. I feel very fortunate to be able to do this internship at Eastside under the guidance of Tony and the team. They are really nice people and I hope to learn and grow from the experience. Hopefully my ankles don’t snap.
