Hello everyone, how good it is to be back to share this great music with you again after my annual summer break. And, I must thank my colleague Mick Paddon for doing such a great job on the program while I was away. I really did enjoy his series on the Changing Face of Jazz and am proud that he choses Jazz Made in Australia as the vehicle for it’s debut broadcast. If you missed it, it will be up as a podcast on Mick’s home station soon. I’ll let you know when and where, when it’s there.
I will start off listening again, to some of the releases that have taken my attention over the past couple years. As we get into a new year the new recording releases come week by week and it becomes impossible to give them the attention they deserve so it is good to periodically go back and review.
This week let’s review Paul Cutlan’s ‘Across the Top’, Julian Wilson’s ‘This Narrow Isthmus’, Eamon Dilworths’ ‘Tiny Hats’, Jamie Oehless and Tal Cohen’s ‘Innocent Dreamer’, Tim Rollinson’s ‘Nitty Gritty’ and Steve Barry’s ‘Puzzles’.
