After meeting at Boston’s Berklee College of Music and forming a musical partnership, Gillian (with a hard ‘G’) and David moved to Nashville to record their debut album Revival (1996). This was followed by the rustic classic Hell Among the Yearlings (1998) and their unforgettable contribution to the acclaimed soundtrack of O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000). Their 2001 album Time (The Revelator), a stirring exploration of American history, rock ’n’ roll, and country music, is often hailed as one of the greatest albums of the new millennium.

Now, the duo’s critically praised 2024 album Woodland, named after their Nashville studio, stands as a testament to their enduring artistic collaboration. Blending tender folk rock, string-laden Americana, and introspective lyrics, the album offers a sound that is both timeless and deeply resonant. Their seamless chemistry in the studio is equally powerful in their live performances. Don’t miss the chance to see them — it may be another decade before they return.
