The journey of pursuing art has brought me to Sydney all the way from Kathmandu, Nepal, and I plan on exploring as many aspects of it as I possibly can.
My name is Akanksha Bhandari, and I’m an international student enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree of Visual Arts and Design at the Australian Catholic University. Coming from a very cliché Asian family, with my father being a doctor and my mother a teacher, I can assure you they were not too enthusiastic to have their daughter pursue such a controversial field of education. Nonetheless, being the loving and supportive parents they are, they gave in to my non-traditional and stubborn dream, and so here I am, in a foreign land studying and exploring what brings me most joy, art.

And where better to find new inspirations and discoveries than from a local radio station? So, when asked why Eastside Radio? I’d probably say because I’m OMW to becoming an artist, and interning at Eastside Radio would be like an intriguing pit stop at a gallery with music, musicians, art, artists, talk shows, talkers? I don’t know. I mean you get the point. There is a lot to be inspired by, and I am here for all of it.
Also, when it comes to music, most of you reading this may not know the songs or artists I listen to, but if you’re interested, give them a try!
