In a world that gets more complicated by the day, proud Eastside sponsor Elizabeth Mary Cummings spends her time and talent writing books for children- but not your typical children’s books. Elizabeth is an author of books that inspire, teach, and encourage fun and appreciation for the world around us.

In her newest series “Verityville,” Elizabeth takes the focus off the celebrities of the day and instead concentrates on the people who make our world work – the lollipop ladies and the lifeguards who do so much for their community.

In Verityville there are plenty of amazing folk such as these, going about their daily business and making the town into the lovely place that it is. Their work and special efforts make Verityville a marvelous place to be and a town full of wonder, friendship, and most importantly adventure!

Her most recent title in the series is The Garbage Guy, and it tells the real story of how a positive attitude and never giving up can make a difference – all seen from a child’s point of view.

On Sunday the 26th of June bring the whole family along to enjoy the launch of The Garbage Guy – meet the author and illustrator, get a book signed, enjoy some face painting and enjoy the wonders that Verityville inspires!
