Hey friends,

My name is Anne Gray Stedman, it’s a double name so all my friends call me AG. I’m from Charlotte, NC, USA and have been traveling around for the past year. I have lived in a few different countries, learning about many different cultures, primarily through music and food! I will be interning at East Side Radio for the next month so I hope to meet some of you and talk about your music and what it means to you! 

I am thrilled to meet different people coming through the station and hear genres of music I have never listened to before! This is the first time I have been exposed to the world of Jazz and Blues so I’m excited to learn a lot. I think you can decipher a lot about cultures through music so I’m pumped for my mind to be opened to some mean beats and new information on a range of countries and cultures.

I have wanted to break out of the box of social constructs I’ve been in for so long by traveling and through music. East Side Radio accepts everyone and every kind of music so it seems like an incredible opportunity to discover. I am always finding different kinds of music that I love, varying from The Beatles to Mac Miller. The primary way my dad and I bonded when I was younger was through music. I grew up listening to Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones which fueled my passion for music. Depending on what mood I’m in, you can catch me listening to a variety of music, like psychedelic rock or rap.
