Dress Up for AusMusic T-Shirt Day

November 18, 2025

It’s that time of the year again for the annual AusMusic T-Shirt Day! Every year in November Triple J and the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) host AusMusic T-Shirt Day (AMTD), an important event that was created to support the Australian music industry and its workers.

Whether you are an upcoming artist, a manager, a crew member or even techs or behind the scenes managers, the music business is hard. Unstable cash flow, lack of venues and programs, closure or pausing of festivals and other events or gigs and even outside issues such as high house prices, low wages and affordability issues, the Australian music industry is struggling. AusMusic T-Shirt Day however, is always here to help when the going gets tough.

How does it work?

The program works as a foundation where anyone, ranging from you and me to large corporations such as Spotify and the Endeavour Group, donate as much many as they please to the AMTD’s website. The money collected from these donations goes back into a charity called Support Act, a charity which supports mental health programs, crisis relief situations and First Nations programs for Australian music industry workers through direct support such as paying bills in crisis and free and confidential mental health support. This money greatly benefits these workers, helping nurture a positive and safe future for the Australian music industry.

How can you get involved?

To get involved with AusMusic T-Shirt Day, donate any amount of money anytime to the AMTD foundation website and wear your favourite local band’s T-shirt on the 27th of November to show support. It is encouraged to get as much people as you can to participate, as the more people are aware of this program, the more money and recognition it will raise for struggling workers and help the industry respectively.
