Stunning new songs played by superb musicians!
Close To Forever celebrate the launch of their striking debut album ‘Hearts and Desire’ with a special launch show at The Great Club on Sunday 16 October. The album, funded by the generous support of their fans through a Pozible campaign, has been one big massive journey from initial recording, mixing, mastering and creating artwork, all managed through a world wide pandemic, to the final product which has received glowing reviews from Pozible supporters who already have their pre-release copies.
Special guest Peter Hollo opens the evening with his solo musical project ‘raven’. Peter is the cellist in FourPlay String Quartet, Tangents and many other ensembles. Tools in his sonic paintbox include cello, piano, found objects, looping and other FX pedals and laptop programming/processing.
After building a huge following at the now legendary Venue505, it was only a matter of time before Close to Forever entered the recording studio to produce their first album ‘Hearts and Desire’. Recorded at Electric Ave in Sydney by studio legend Phil Punch, mixed by Tim Whitten and mastered by William Bowden at King Willy Studios, the result is both a haunting and uplifting experience, combining folk with elements of rock, jazz and exotic world sounds, reflecting the creative talents of the various band members.
