Bonnie Raitt: Three Grammy wins, including Song of the Year!

Bonnie Raitt wins three GRAMMY Awards. Among others, Song of The Year with her song “Just Like That”

Bluesfest and Bluesfest Touring are proud to announce that Bonnie Raitt has just won three GRAMMY at the 2023 GRAMMY Awards, bringing her a total of 13 awards across the span of her incredible career.

Bonnie even won Song of The Year for ‘Just Like That’.

To win Song of The Year, Bonnie had incredibly strong competition. She was up against songs by Beyonce, Adele, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Lizzo, DJ Khaled, Kendrick Lamar, and Gayle.

“Everyone who has ever had the pleasure of spending a moment in their life in the presence of this wonderful human being will be celebrating her triple GRAMMY win” – Peter Noble, Festival Director of the Bluesfest Group

“Not only is Bonnie Raitt a consummate musician and songwriter, Blues guitarist and singer, but she also walks the walk.”, Noble said about Bonnie’s win.

Bonnie Raitt said of her win at the 2023 GRAMMY Awards, “I’m so surprised, I don’t know what to say”. “It’s a song about organ donation.”  “I don’t write a lot of songs, but I’m so pleased you appreciate this one”.

Bonnie also won Best Americana Performance for Made Up Mind and Best American Roots Song for her song Just Like That.

Furthermore, artist producer, composer and pianist Robert Glasper won his fifth GRAMMY Award for Best R&B Album ‘Black Radio 111’. Robert Glasper  will be playing Bluesfest Byron Bay Sunday 9 April and Monday 10 April 2023 (tickets are available here).
