Her voice and her looks might be familiar to Eastside listeners. Born in Montreal from Haitian parents, Sydney based singer/songwriter and composer Athésia will be performing this Sunday 5th June 6pm at the Knox Street Bar.
Songstress Athésia invites you to an enchanting evening. Singing songs from her latest album “Athésia & The Gentlemen” and remixed versions of classic standards; be prepared to enjoy a unique and intimate atmosphere where Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Françoise Hardy, Boris Vian, Massive Attack, The Doors and few Bossa Nova classics reunite for one night.
Singing in French, English, Portuguese and Creole, you will be touring the world without leaving Sydney.
Canadian Haitian Creole singer Athésia has performed in Argentina, Brazil, Peru, the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Haiti and many more countries as part of the countries celebration of International Francophonie Day.
Athésia is presently collaborating on new musical projects with both Australian and international musicians. Leaving soon for Vietnam, Europe and North America, this is your chance to listen to Athésia before her departure.
Athésia will be accompanied by The Gentlemen: Michael Coggins (Guitar), Tim Bradley (Percussions) and Elsen Price (Double Bass).
