Arts Wednesday 5 April 2017

April 03, 2017

Andy Bromberger returns with Part 3 of Music’s Mechanical Make-Up at 10:40 am, this week talking about rhythm. Apparently there was some confusion last week, because the image for Arts Wednesday was of a mushroom, to accompany my conversation with Dr Ray Kearney. Honestly, Andy does not now, nor has she ever look like a mushroom. She is totally gorgeous and looks like this:

My special guest at 11:00 am is Will Mathers, curator of a new exhibition at the Australian National Maritime Museum  called Rescue From Pompeii. We all know a little bit about that fateful day in August 79 AD when Mount Vesuvius erupted. The lesser known story is the rescue attempt by the Roman Navy.

Music is a bit eclectic today. A couple of tracks from the highly unsuccessful 2014 movie called Pompeii and then we move to happier listening ground with music from Italy and about the sea.

As always, I look forward to your company!
