Arts Wednesday 31 January 2018

January 30, 2018

Laila Ellmoos, historian with the City of Sydney, joins us this morning at 10:40 am with a new series and this time Laila looks at historic events and how we mark them. Part 1 today kicks off with Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, this year marking 40 years since the first march in Sydney.

On Thursday this week, codeine will no longer available over the counter and authorities are still addressing the huge problem of death from overdose of prescription pain killers. It seemed timely to repeat an interview I recorded in November 2016 with celebrity GP, Dr Ginni Mansberg. We talked about pain, both physical and mental and what we can do about it. You can hear it at 11:00 am.

Music is about pain – just generally sad songs.

I look forward to your company.
