Parramatta-based Filipina–Australian artist Marikit Santiago is the recipient of the 2024 La Prairie Art Award.

The acquisitive award was founded in 2022 and supports Australian women artists.  Marikit was selected for her two paintings that portray two generations of Santiago’s family.  As the third year winner of the Swiss luxury skincare house, La Prairie Award, she will travel to Switzerland in June to attend the Art Basel International Art Fair 2024 as a guest of La Prairie. We hear from Marikit at AGNSW, seated in front of her two works displayed as part of the Making Worlds exhibition.
