Hiya everyone! My name is Margareth Kowik but I typically go by Maggie. I am about to finish my final year of studying a Bachelor of Media, majoring in Journalism at the University of New South Wales.

Growing up, there was a specific comment that followed me all my life from my parents, friends and especially teachers. “Maggie is so talkative.” Naturally, podcasting and radio talk shows were calling my name… and I listened!

I love talking to new people and finding out their story. Possibly a controversial opinion, but I do love interviews when it’s me interviewing someone else! Exploring someone’s story and finding a way to tell that in a meaningful and interesting way is something I enjoy doing. I mostly cover stories of technology and culture.

I am a sucker for true crime documentaries. Watching them actually made me really consider a path into investigative journalism. I am very fickle with my hobbies, one month it’s crocheting then the next it’s baking. Some may say I’m indecisive, but I would say I’m preparing myself to be a jack of all trades.

As I was figuring out what type of work I wanted to pursue, I experimented with audio work during my studies, and I loved it. I chose to be an intern at Eastside Radio because I wanted to get a taste of radio, and was keen on being behind the scenes of it all.
