Allegra Spender is concerned about the recovery of the Arts sector. After two years of repeated lockdowns, cancellations and postponements of performances, she talks to Paul about how she would help shape Federal Government policy for the Arts and small business if she is successful at the upcoming Federal election. She is running as an independent for the seat of Wentworth.
The daughter of fashion designer and legendary arts patron, Carla Zampatti, she grew up in a household filled with art, music and dance. She shares her mother’s passion for the Arts and wants to see the industry thrive again.
Allegra’s solution involves bolstering the small businesses that support the industry, as well as direct government involvement through funding and welfare.
