The Eternal Now – Chip Wickham

Released September 5, 2025

Saxophonist and flautist Chip Wickham casts a distinctive shadow across the UK jazz scene. Originally from Brighton, Chip first emerged in the breakbeat world with Nightmares On Wax and Graham Massey but has always had jazz in his DNA. The Eternal Now, co-produced with Matthew Halsall, is his most progressive recording yet, a heartfelt exploration of art, freedom and letting go.

Featuring Manchester stalwarts Luke Flowers on drums and Sneaky on bass, the album leans heavily on flute while blending hard swinging spiritual jazz, 60s British jazz and contemporary influences from Jazzanova, The Cinematic Orchestra and Nicola Conte. Each track takes the listener on an expansive journey with soulful grooves and memorable melodies.

Supporting musicians include PEACH. on vocals, Eoin Grace on trumpet and flugelhorn, George Cooper on Fender Rhodes, Christophe Leroux on cello, Snowboy on congas and percussion, Mohamed Oweda on violin and Lia Wickham on vocals. The Eternal Now is a captivating, rhythmically rich record that solidifies Chip Wickham’s reputation for combining adventurous jazz with heartfelt expression.

Molasses – Natalie Slade

Released August 8, 2025

Sydney’s Natalie Slade follows her debut Control with Molasses, a sumptuous dive into Australian future soul. Co-written with Hiatus Kaiyote’s Simon Mavin and featuring The Dieyoungs on keys and Laneous on guitar, the album places Natalie’s vocals and songwriting front and center.

Production by Brisbane’s Sampology and guest Dan Kye adds a lush soulful-but-gritty backdrop, blending strings, Neo-Soul grooves and subtle Broken Beat textures.

Tracks shimmer with poetic storytelling and impeccable melody while Natalie’s collaborations across the scene with Posy, Plutonic Lab, Parker and Rhodes and Dojo Cuts hint at her versatility. Molasses is a high-water mark in contemporary Australian soul, balancing sophistication, warmth and effortless groove.
