Water and Dust – William Crighton (Australia)

[Release Date: 11 February 2022]

Water and Dust is the third studio album by Australian alternative-rock artist, William Crighton, released on 11 February 2022 through ABC Music. At the 2022 ARIA Music Awards, the album won ARIA Award for Best Blues and Roots Album.

After spending a good part of his 20s in the United States, touring, he settled in Nashville for a few years, and things were looking up for his music. Soon after, Crighton and his young family moved back to a rural setting at Burrinjuck on the Murrumbidgee in New South Wales stating “I came home with a longing for connection and though music was a part of me I still didn’t know how I would be able to do it.”

Crighton’s rich, gravelly vocals and evocative lyrics draw listeners into a world where tales of love, loss, and redemption unfold against a backdrop of rugged landscapes and heartfelt melodies. With its powerful narratives and haunting melodies, “Water and Dust” solidifies William Crighton’s place as one of Australia’s most compelling musical talents.
